| Don't you see install with cd icon on DVD booted system desktop? It's possible to remove the (broken) lite partition from HDD with gparted but be very carefully and keep windows partitions untoutche... |

| I have no problems on linux lite 4.4. Upgrading within series is simple via lite upgrade.
And if not working install updates with "install updates" before upgrading. |

| What is the OS on your pc is it windows 10 or windows 8.1 or windows 7?
With windows you may be able to convert MBR to GPT, but I am not sure.
You will need to make the final installation in gpt too, ... |
