Hi
Is it possible to boot Linux Lite to RAM?
Will it make any difference if my machine has 16 GB of RAM and a terabyte SSD?
Thanks

Hi
I have decided to handle Windows 10 not being supported by switching to Linux Lite.
I am disabled and spend most of my time lying on my bed and using my MacBook.
I have a main machine in my living area with Windows 10, but I want to migrate it to Linux Lite. It has a 3-GHz I7, 256 GB SSD, and a terabyte hard disk.
I live with my sister, who has no machine and uses a mobile. I am considering giving her my main machine and getting a notebook as my backup machine. I also plan to use Linux Lite on it. It will just be a backup machine. It will probably come with Windows 11, so I may set it up as a dual boot.
For those interested, I am into mathematical physics, and if you are interested, I am a mentor on Physics Forums. I also have a computer science area.
I have over 30 years of experience as a computer programmer in the government, but I retired early due to ill health, so my knowledge is way out of date. I am happy to help if I can.
Thanks
Bill

Hallo,
B.v.d.

Materia Comfort Theme v1.01 (GTK only Version) mouse grabable window borders & edges |

Materia Comfort Theme v1.01 (GTK only Version) mouse grabable window borders & edges
Resizing windows with the mouse is a fundamental feature that has existed in every operating system for decades.
However, this feature has been lost in Linux, as window borders are almost impossible to grab with current themes.
As a result, popular distributions like Linux Lite, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, etc. now have a broken window theme onboard.
Comfort Themes such as the Materia Comfort Theme are designed to fix this problem and make window borders and edges grabable again.
MX-Linux and other distributions have already started adding comfort themes to their operating systems.
While Linux Lite comes with the "Greybird" theme preinstalled with accessibility=comfort window themes, the Linux Lite standard theme "Materia" is still broken.
The Materia Comfort Theme has been adapted to the Linux Default Window Theme as it has easy grabable 5-pixel-wide borders and edges compared to Materia's 2-pixel-wide borders (for details, read the included text file from line 83).
Colors have also been adjusted for the menubar's background, hover background, font and hover font (Standard, Dark, Light), the notebook/tab background and selected background (Dark) and the xfce4-panel (Light) (reasons for this can be found in the included text file from line 140).
The Materia Theme must already be installed, otherwise the Materia Comfort Theme cannot be installed by the script.
Although the Materia Comfort Theme v1.01 looks finalized, some/many color settings whose function I haven't been able to figure out haven't been adjusted in the GTK scripts.
It would be interesting to know if the developer of Materia, who unfortunately hasn't developed the theme further for years, is interested in integrating comfort themes (Standard, Dark, Light) into Materia.
Note: v1.01 is currently only compatible with the Materia version from Linux Lite. The upcoming Materia Comfort Theme v1.1 will also be compatible with the Materia version from the Package Manager "materia-gtk-theme" which also has GTK4 support.
Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d-yRAsV...sp=sharing
v1.01 changes: The Materia Comfort Theme design remains unchanged. Only the script code in the bash file for GTK2 and the included text file has been changed.
