Yes,  it seems Ubuntu is forcing the issue. But maybe I am misreading this. I'd rather appimages than snaps or flatpaks, anyway. But I find I am definitely in the minority.

Good question. Am setting aside today to install 5.0 LTS. Had tried a distro or three in the meantime, and they were not Lite. So ready for 5.0. Glad somebody asked!
