Yes,  it seems Ubuntu is forcing the issue. But maybe I am misreading this. I'd rather appimages than snaps or flatpaks, anyway. But I find I am definitely in the minority.

Nothing was as useful and user-friendly as Systemback. It did so much, so quickly, with no mess. All the other suggestions for a replacement seem to require several packages to do what this one did.
