| The apt-get autoremove operation appears to have freed up space in my linux boot partition - it was at 97% but is now 24% full.
Routine update completed without a problem this morning.

Timeshift - Settings - Location allows me to specify a USB connected drive as the destination of the system back up. The SATA attached 'data' drive also appears as an option.

| Just tried using catfish on my home directory and see the same as you - so not a permissions issue.
Looks like catfish is for locating and opening files, not for relocating them. |
